Nature’s Way Getaway
Brand new lakefront 3 bed, 2 bath home. Large master bedroom has private bath with huge tub. Other 2 bedrooms have own decks. Washer/dryer. Firepit, gas grill. Kayak, canoe, paddleboard and paddleboat included with rental. Large stocked kitchen. Knotty pine sunroom. Beautiful views all around. The sky at night is breathtaking. Near amazing hiking and gorgeous wineries. Spend all day playing in lake & fishing, enjoy sunset on the deck or go antiquing & hiking. Have a peaceful magical vacation.
The space
The Nature’s Way Getaway has a large master bedroom with a king bed, corner windows, and a master bathroom. The master bathroom has a separate shower and a large soaker tub. There are two queen bedrooms. One of the queen bedrooms has a private deck facing the lake and stairs to the firepit area. The other queen bedroom has a twin trundle under the bed and a small private deck that leads out to the firepit. The two queen bedrooms share a full bathroom with a bathtub/shower. In the knotty pine sunroom, there is a daybed/couch with a twin trundle bed.
The home features a garden out front that include fresh herbs, full kitchen and dining area, family room, bonus sunroom, large outdoor deck, gas grill and boat dock.
The kitchen has a coffee bar. We provide coffee, creamer and sugar. We have both a coffee pot and individual pods.
We provide all bed linens and towels. There are also lake towels in the laundry room.
The Nature’s Way Getaway has a washer and dryer located in the cabin.
There is a smart tv and a hotspot for Wifi.
We have games and puzzles and some toys.
We have a kayak, paddleboat, paddleboard and a canoe to play on.
We have fishing poles and a small tackle box… don’t forget your fishing license!
If the night is clear... have s’mores by the fire or sit on the deck and look at the amazing sky.
Guest access
The Nature’s Way Getaway is accessible up a short staircase with handrails, and is locked using an electronic keypad for your convenience. Please let us know if you have any questions or difficulties in using the keypad and we would be happy to assist! We have multiple entrances to ease your loading in and loading out.
Other things to note
We accommodate all guests, but we ask that you please do not smoke inside the Nature’s Way Getaway
We do offer wifi, and have rarely had complaints on the speed.
In the winter months if there is ice outside, it may be difficult to enter and exit the neighborhood.
You do have the entire home to yourself, and if you need space for more guests, let us know as we may have more space in our other rentals!

This property is just perfect for a family getaway on the lake. We had a wonderful time traveling with our 5 year-old who is prone to staying indoors and wanting to watch TV, but at Kris's place there were so many places to explore and things to see we couldn't keep him inside. Not only is the location perfect and private, but they have EVERYTHING you need from towels, blankets, irons, cookware, dishes, to fishing poles, kayaks, and a paddleboat. The private lake access is wonderful. You'll have to endure a few steps, but there is so much fun to be had on the water - even in the fall!
The communication couldn't have been better. Kris was very responsive and answered all our questions timely.

We loved the use of the kayaks and firepit ! Great place to relax and enjoy there at Natures Way and is short drive to hiking . We stayed toward end of September-peaceful on the lake good star gazing and hosts great to work with - would definitely return .
Kris & Matt's place made our trip to Shawnee SO enjoyable. There was so much room, and we could have easily fit more than enough for the four of us. We would hike in the mornings and would hang out on the lake in their canoe and kayaks and rest in the cozy house in the evenings. All the rooms were super spacious and clean, and the kitchen was fully stocked with equipment and treats. Kris was also very friendly, checking in with us and was very accommodating. We can't wait to come back!

The only thing bad about this place is that we eventually have to leave it. We love the location and the hosts, and this is our third year staying at one of their properties. This is our second at Nature’s Getaway. What started as a way to enjoy life during the early stages of the covid pandemic has become a yearly tradition for us and our extended family here at Lake of Egypt. Everything about this home, from the wall decorations to the way everything is laid out and presented, along with the enjoyable water accessories, is well thought out and a pure joy!
We rented this house for our family getaway and had a wonderful time. It housed 7 adults and 1 child comfortably and was full of amenities and anything you’ll need for your stay.
The lake was amazing to explore and very warm and great for swimming and playing off of the dock.
We had such a nice relaxing week at this beautiful home! We enjoyed kayaking and fishing off the dock. There are a lot of hiking trails close by and the scenery is breathtaking.
We had a great time at Nature's Way. We spent most of our day's using the canoe, kayak's and paddle boat that were provided. Fishing was a blast and we did catch alot of fish. I tried not to bother Kris but when I did have a question, was quick to respond. I would definitely return and hope to do so next year.
Our group had an amazing time at Nature's Way. We thoroughly enjoyed the house, the lake, and the fire pit. Everything you need to have a fantastic vacation is here. The owners were exceptionally easy to communicate with and even invited us over to a neighbors house for a Memorial Day feast. Would definitely recommend anyone looking for a lake house to enjoy some R&R to rent this home without hesitancy.
